Inclusion and Diversity at UCIM .
Despite inclusion and diversity being an important part of policy making, it seldom gets implemented beyond papers. For an organization or event or community to evolve, it’s critical to include people representing different ethnicities, genders, religions, ages, orientations, and regions. At UCIM, we will not only include a diverse set of participants but also encourage them to respect and empower one another.
Given the open and shared world that technologies like blockchain are striving to create, inclusion is a need and not just something that we call out as a policy. We will be embracing inclusion to pave the way for a decentralized, transparent, and peer-driven global economy.
Code Of Conduct .
At UCIM (United Conference of Internet Money) we are devoted to complying to an anti-harassment policy, consistently applicable to all who would gather, notwithstanding specificities like gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nation, race or religion. As a team, we won’t endure or accept any harassment of the participating members or listeners, in terms of the said above. It is notified that any sort of abusive language or sexual innuendos will be deemed inappropriate during any event or phase of the conference. Thereby, it is conducive that those participants who indulge in the prohibitions above may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference [without a refund] at the discretion of the conference organizers.
The form and code of the anti-harassment policy are as defined below. Any elocution of offensive verbal repartee on gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, nation, race or religion, deliberate intimidation, following, talking, harassing photography or recording, relentless disruption of talks or other events and inappropriate physical contact will be deemed as inappropriate. It is also required that once the complaint is notified to the partaker, he or she is responsible to comply immediately.
All contributors and participants attending the conference, including exhibitors, sponsors, and speakers are subject to the anti-harassment policy. It is ushered that exhibitors especially do not make use of any sexualized images, activities or other material. Any inappropriate form of clothing/ uniforms/costumes will be considered inadmissible for the booth staff as it might promote a sexualized environment.
Herein we also demand that if there happens to be an occurrence of malpractice along the above lines of conduct where you perceive as being harassed, or witness a harassment or have a similar concern, you can contact a member of conference staff immediately. Conference staff can be identified by t-shirts or special badges. Staff can be contacted via email at [email protected], subject line “Harassment.”
For any assistance, including if the participants need to contact the hotel/venue or local law enforcement or provide escorts or to even assist those experiencing harassment, you could reach the conference staff. We value your participation and safety and expect that you cooperate with us to ensure the same.
